Down By The River

I'd like to preface this post by saying "I was hot" and "I was hot", AMEN!!!  I did enjoy myself, other than the being hot part and the part where Bailey ran out into the street with her Sprite and then threw it at me when I reached her, all while I was hot.  Yeah, that didn't set well, and I might have demanded to go home shortly after that.  But nobody listen, I was ignored, as I should have been, and the night carried on.

So, what did we do?  Well....

We rode a bicycle!

And we looked sweet....

And we got excited about something...

Sid and I rode the jet ski for awhile, but there are no pictures of that because what sense does it make to take the camera on a jet ski.  It was nice.  I wish we could ride it more, but I don't know how to get it in and out of the water, so we don't.

After a lot of food grilling, that I don't have pictures of, and eating, which I dont't have pictures of either, because this or may not have been in my pouting stage, we went out on the boat.  Sid's cousin, Shelia, and her husband, Heath, have a boat.  I really wanted to see what Bailey would think of the water.   Ben and Kylie decided they would trail behind on the just ski.

Here are a few pictures of all of us as we were waiting to get the boat and the jet ski in the water....

Brady...

Ben, asking what I was doing and looking at me all crazy because I was taking everyone's picture.  Doesn't he know I have a blog and I need pictures.  Afterall, that's the only reason why dad, I mean some people, come here....

The Cooley Boy's...They belong to Heath and Shelia and have a new brother or sister who will be here in about 6 or 7 months......

And last but not least, my little fishy and her daddy....

She really enjoyed it.  She kept pointing at the water and saying "wah wah" for water.  Thankfully she didn't try to jump in or anything but as Ben and Mason were trailing behind us on the jet ski, she'd yell "Bin, blah blah blah blah blah blah, I ride!!!!"  We may or may not have let her ride.

Just as we were all in the water and about to pull out of the dock, this happened....

As Kylie drug herself back into the boat, swearing at the jet ski, she said "are you going to put that on your blog?"  At least someone has learned...haha!!!

Ok, now take a look and see if you can figure out who this is...

You can't tell?  Look a little closer....

Why, yes!!! It's Nene and yes, she's skiing!!!!!!!! Who knew?????????

She didn't stay up long, but she did get right up.  She just wanted to show us she still could!!!

This is for you Mimi and Poppy T.  All I can say is she throughly enjoyed her little ride around the river with Bin!!!

No, that's not how you spell his name, but Bay doesn't say "Ben" like a Mississippi girl.  She says the "i" with a true short "i" as in "igloo", thus the spelling of Bin.  I don't know, call me crazy!!

I don't have any pictures of Mason.  I guess he wasn't still long enough.  That's not true.  I do have pictures of him, on the jet ski with his dad, but they were blurry so I didn't post them.

And one last picture...

Mammaw, Jerry and Shelia standing at some building watching us go up and down the river.  Too bad they couldn't see the dock from there because it would have been a sight.  I mean, with the jet ski inncident and all.  I'm just saying!!!!!!!!!!

You TT'd Where?

In the potty!!!!!  I don't have any pictures, I will try to get some tomorrow, but Bailey and I made a little trip to the Wal-Mart this morning for two purchases.  One, to get a life jacket for her.  And two, to get a potty chair ( I hate that word by the way) because she used one at Mom's a few weeks ago so I thought we'd introduce here at home to just get used to it having it around.  We got home around 1 after eating lunch with Nene, Kyile and Mason.  Bailey took a long nap, like over 3 hours, and when she woke up we got it out of the box.  She sat on it and immediatly tt'd.  I was so excited.  Later, Sid took us out for supper and when we got hom I stripped her down and told her to get on her potty.  She tt'd again, immediatly!!!  Again, I was so excited.  Two things, she tries to drag it around the house and she is still in a diaper, obviously, so she can't just go herself.  I'm not really sure what age you start to push potty training, but I'm thinking it's just a bit early to go at it full blast.  I guess next maybe Sunday afternoon, when we'll be home all afternoon with not much to do, I'll let her go around naked for a few hours and see if she goes to it when she needs to go or if we have many accidents.

I was just super excited because I really didn't think she'd know exactly what to do, but she did.  I have been sitting her on the big potty right before bath at night and she's never tt'd, but then again, I couldn't either with somebody hanging my body over a big ole hole.  But she would push and push and usually let out a poot, she was pushing so hard.  So I knew she knew what the purpose was.  And she proved that today.

I will get some pictures soon, but just wanted to "document" the day!!!

Back to the lunch outing we had today- she was horrible.  So bad I had to get super ugly with her, which I have never done out in public, or at home for that matter.  But she was out of control.  I'm not sure what the problem was, other than when we got home she took that HUGE nap, so she must have been exceptionally tired.  She was a little better at supper, but not much, so maybe that wasn't it.

Tomorrow, we are going to the river, whatever that is around here.  And taking the jet ski.  Some of Sid's dad's family is already there with their campers.  And from what I hear there should be a boat, too, but we'll see what the day brings.  Not really looking forward to chasing an 18 month old around a river all day while her daddy scoots around on the jet ski.  Although we did get her a life jacket today for the boat, and MAYBE the jet ski.  We'll see about that one!  At least she's going in style.  While we are at the Wal-Mart today, they had their OP cover-ups on sale for $5 and I got her some little plastic like sandals that match that she can get wet or dirty and it won't matter because they were only $2.

Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

Wordless Wednesday (On Thursday)

Pictures taken on our July 4th swim.  Bailey learned to jump off the side, go all the way under, hold her breath and come up for air, with a little help of course, all while counting 1, 2, 3!!  Mae floating around after some good swimming time.  He is doing so good being a little fish, going under and diving down the bottom and swimming around.  And for all you pass-a haters (paci), that one pic where she is has it is after church, lunch at Mamie's, two hours of swimming and NO NAP!!!!!!

Before I post this last picture, let me tell you, we got not one but TWO notes home from daycare yesterday.  (Our daycare has a summer pull out program where we can pay a discounted price and she can go up to two days a week.  When we are in town, she goes to stay in the habit of going.)  Seems she pinched and scratched two different friends yesterday at school.  We had to have a little talk about it!

Happy Belated 4th of July!!!

Our madness did not stop until we dropped last night.  Bailey was out for the night by 6, I was out for the night by 7 and Sid was out for the night sometime before dark but I don't know what time.  I just felt him come to bed.  Here's one thing I did get to before I dropped!!!

It's so hard to get the little angel to stay still.  Not to mention on the first go, I forgot there was no memory card in.

And even further evidence that my baby girl is growing up....

Do you know what that is??? Why, it's an empty bottle rack, that's what!!!!  And that's right folks.  Bailey gave up her daytime bottles right at 12 months, but just was not ready to part with the beloved night time bottle.  Well, it's offical.  Even after several "are you sure's", she's given it up, all by herself, at 18 months and a few days old.  I just packed them up for good this morning.  The only problem as far as I can tell is that it was the only time of the day she drank milk.  But she does get enough fat in her diet from other things, so I think we are good.

Next up, the ever more beloved pass-a, aka paci!!!

I Just Cannot Believe It

Is already July!  First of all the past TWO years, let alone this last year, has just flown by.  Two years ago I was pregnant with Bailey and at the beach with Sid, Maggie and Bo.  Last year I'm not exactly sure what we were doing. Ha!  But this year, it's been slam packed full of stuff.  Unfortunatly, I didn't bring the camera when it all started on Friday, but I did get some phone pics that will have to do.  So, let's get this party started shall we?

Friday, we left about lunch and went to Sid's grandmother's in Jackson for this thing called The Balloon Glow.  It wasn't until we were actually there and half way through before I learned two things about the event.  Number 1 - It was called the Balloon Glow and not the Balloon Blow, of which I'd been referencing it.  And secondly, Tracey Lawerence was there to sing.  Who knew?  Anyway, it was this festival thing where there was hot air balloons, music, food, heat, activities for kids, more heat, and of course more food.  It was at the mall up close to Mammaw's house and we went with her and Sid's cousin and her boys.  We took several coolers, chairs, the wagon, four large pizzas and this little jewl:

Don't laugh!  You know you'd want one, too.

So, the purpose of this thing was for these hot air balloons to set up and then when it got dark, the fired under them and they glowed, showing their pretty colors.  Again, phone pictures, but they are good.  There were about 10 balloons that I could count and it was really cool!

On this last picuture, before Tracy Lawerence came on, the announcer counted to three and the fire blew and this is what we saw.

And of course, no night would be complete without a picture of my sweet hearts!

We didn't get home until about 11, we were worn out and sleepy, and slept til 9 this morning.  After some breakfast, we decided to hit the pool.  No pictures from that because sadly, I remembered the camera and then remember the batteries were dead.  But let me assure you, Bailey was the CUTEST thing in her swimsuit with the tutu like thing on it that Ms. Pam got her.  It was the first time for her to wear it and it was so cute.  Bailey did so good swimming.  If she could just figure out how to kick her legs and arms.  She can hold her breath and loves to go under and float but she just won't kick.

After a looonnnggg nap, one in which Daddy has a lapse in judgement and woke us up, we got ready and went to the fair cabin for the first time this summer.  It will be the first of many trips this summer.  But Bailey is just into everything.  She loved every minute of it.

First, there was Uncle Ben's jeep with no sides on it, so she could just climb right in.  (And I caught a tired face!)

And then there was a jeep ride all over the fair grounds, not once, but twice.  So nice!  Probably my most favorite thing to do.  And you can't do it when the fair actually starts, so it's cool to be able to do it now.

(Don't worry Mimi and Poppy T, we may (or may not have) really gone for a ride!!

Then there was visiting with Mami.

And of course sweet Mason!

And I'll let this last set speak for itself.  Just pretend there is some music!!!!

Tomorrow, the acutal 4th, we are going to Mami's for lunch and then back swimming.  I'll be sure and get some pictures of that cute bathing suit!
