Art, Art and More Art

Don't forget to Scoot on over to The Ssippi Scoop Reviews and Give Away page to see what's going down, what's going on, and what's being given away!!   http://www.ssippiscoopreviews.blogspot.com/

It's been C-R-A-Z-Y!!! around this house for at least the past week and  a half.  And when it wasn't crazy, guess who was sick?  Luckily, our sweet friend Miss Hailey hasn't gone back to school yet, so she's getting some extra money before she does by helping us out.  Not to mention, Bailey loves her!

So, this is not new news at the Whitehead household, but we new art at the Neshoba County Fair.

This pretty one adorns my wall over the dining room table.

In case you aren't familiar with it, those are fair cabins at the Neshoba County Fair grounds.  We didn't have anything to do with the fair hanging around our house other than some old t-shirts that get forgotten about from year to year.  When I walked by this painting, it caught my eye, and lucky for me it was close to closing time for the arts and crafts for the day and close to my birthday.  I was able to purchase this with some money from Sid and Maggie and Bo.

This next piece of art was actually the first piece of art to catch my eye.  I don't know how it was still there at the end of the day, because I've never seen anything like it.  But lucky for Mom, it was still there and she is now the proud owner of this piece.

At first I thought we were going to get to keep it out house, but no such luck.  She took it with her!  Maybe it will return one day!  I just love it.

But do you want to know what I really love?  Artwork that my sweet Bailey Boo does.  Up until now, it's just been artwork that you can tell was either done with alot of help from her teacher or with no help from the teacher.  I was cleaning off the table from her stuff brought in from last week and found this:

There's a glare on the glass, but it's an elephant, lion, and zebra that is made with her hand print.  And it's dated my birthday.  Not that I think they did this just for me, but I did find it a keepsake of sorts.  Sid had just the right thing at work to frame it in.  We don't have it on the wall yet, but it will be soon!

And, how could we leave out the lion?

Also, made from those sweet hands!  It's going to get harder and harder to pick and choose what goes in the box for a "keeper" and what gets hung around the house.  They do so much at school and I hate to throw anything away.  Art projects like this one are just priceless to me!  I know she enjoys every bit of it.  She has some crayons that her Mimi bought her that don't color too well for some reason, the only thing I can figure out is because they are non-toxic, but anyway, Bailey loves to just play with them.  She will ask for her "pen" which is what she calls them, get her drawing paper out, and then sit in the floor and dump out her crayons, pick them up one by one, put them in the cup, then dump them out all over again!  Hey, as long as she's happy, then so is this mama!!!

Don't forget to go visit the review and give away blog to read my review of Just My Size! And for you chance/chances to win a $500 gift card of your very own.  I'll pick a winner on August 31st!!!
