Hump Day Morning!
Yes, that's right. It's Wednesday morning. I must say that after starting antibiotics last night for an upper respiratory infection, I feel MUCH better. So this morning I woke up and started watching Fox and Friends, like I do every "normal" morning. And lucky me this morning, Meghan McCain was on there. I've never heard her speak, but while she was on FF, they talked about her new book that was just released and then they spoke of this:
Apparently Palin made this commnet in a recent speech: Do you know the difference between a hockey mom and bit bull? Lipstick! And in return Obama made this comment in one of his recent speeches: You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. And there's already a commercial out about it. Now, those of you who know me, and I have said this before, I am NOT the most political person you can find. So it's interesting to me that I am so into this election SO against Obama. But come on, he could have done better than that!!!! PLUH-ESE!!!! The jury is still out as to weather Obama meant this as a direct hit to Palin. Well sure he did!! In my measley opinion anyway.
And also, I found out about Meghan's blog, which she calls a blogette. So here's the link to it in case you are as interested in it as I am. It's actaully a pretty good read. www.mccainblogette.com

Five Month Check-up
And all is well. Bailey is definitely a girl. Sid and I just got through watching the video of today's ultrasound. It's amazing to me that you can even count her fingers and toes. The ultrasound lady said everything is looking good. She weighs just a bit over a pound and her heart rate is good. She is still head down but I forgot to ask how long she was. She's for sure grown in a month though. I go back on October 7th. I still can not believe we are on the back 20 of this 40 month pregnancy deal.

You Will Notice
That the ticker at the top of the page shows that we FINALLY made it past the half-way point. If there is one thing I've noticed more, it's that Bailey moves around ALOT. And the nausea seems to stay away for even longer periods of time-knock on wood! It's been about 2 weeks since I've actually been sick and the nausea med actually helps the bouts of feeling sick. Soooo, that's a big change too!
I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for my monthly check-up and it seems so surreal to me that we are on the down side of this whole pregnancy thing and it won't be long until Bailey's big arrival. When I go back to the doctor in October, it will only be 15 more weeks and I just can't imagine. It's just amazing to me!
Don't get me wrong, we are in no way ready or prepared for Bailey's arrival, other than emotionally. Environmentally speaking, we have done nothing in the way of getting this house ready. For so long, I didn't feel like doing anything and now that I do feel somewhat like working on the nursery, we really can't yet. Sid ordered us a shed a few weeks back but they can't deliver it until the ground isn't wet, and well, the ground has been wet ever since and seems that it will continue to be for another week or so. Therefore, all the things in Bailey's room that need to go in storage don't have a place yet and so we haven't been able to do much. I'm ready for the shed to get here because even though Sid doesn't believe it, I'm ready to get the nursery done.
Speaking of the nursery, I saw yesterday that Restoration Hardware now makes baby furniture. Who knew? Certainly not me. And of course that furniture is right up my alley. But again, way out of the budget. Do you have a budget when you have a baby???? Is there really such a thing????
Well, we made it to the circus last night and Sid and I laughed at alot, but mostly because we seemed to be the ONLY two adults without children in the whole place. Not next time though. And I bet you we don't get out near as cheap as we did last night either. Do you have any idea how much one of those spinning light toys bearing the circus logo sells for? Two guesses and the first one doesn't count!! TWENTY BUCKS!!! Yes, you read right. Lemonade in a circus cup was....EIGHT DOLLARS!!! Sid decided Bailey's Poppy T could take her to the circus. haha! Poppy T says he sure will but he'll start saving now for the occasion. haha! It was fun and I was glad we got to go. I was amazed at how up close you could get as far as parking and unlike the BJCC, parking was free right in the parking lot at the front door. At least something was free!

Mmaaannnn!!!
It's absolutely so amazing how tired I am. I've always been a sleeper, but this isn't just a need for sleep. I mean, I feel so exhausted all the time. I hit a spot right after lunch where I could probably take a 3 hour nap, but I fight the urge, and keep on at it and by the time 6:00 rolls around, you can count me down for the count. Shew!!! I never knew growing a baby could be so tiresome.
However, tomorrow night, we are going to the circus!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the circus and always have, even as an adult. So we'll go tomorrow night. It's in Jackson, which is a little further than from Oneonta to the BJCC, but it'll be fun. We haven't done much lately because I haven't felt like it. But at almost $40 bucks a ticket, even if I don't feel good tomorrow night I'll be sucking it up and going. I'm excited!!!

Hello Blogging World
Not much to report but I thought I'd take some time to post for you avid readers out there.
I can say one thing. God bless the church office. My eyes have surely been opened since come to work at Philly FUMC. I don't know if we have this in Alabama or not, but in Mississippi the Methodist church uses the Wesley Foundation (I know we have that in Alabama) to let people who need assistance apply for monies to help make house payments and bills and such. They have a system in place so that you can not just walk in off the street and ask for money and get it. You have to show proof that you have some income and where the money will go that you are asking for. So that's a good thing. The daycare center is located in the same building as the church office and sanctuary. My office is not far from the church office so from time to time I get folks in my office asking for assistance or prayer. When I first started it would throw me off a little because it was something I wasn't used to. More on that later. Today, the church office happens to be closed because they have all gone to a funeral. Soooo, I just got my eyes FULL of some ladies droopy boobies in a see-through dress who wanted help making a house payment. I was so stunned at the dress she had on and the lack there-of of anything underneath that I'm sure I looked and sounded like a blubbering fool. Put some clothes on lady, is what I wanted to say. But God reminds me why I'm not the church secretary and someone else is I suppose. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad there is a system in place for help, but geesh, put some clothes on.
One day, right after I started working here, a lady came in and went on and on about needing help and such and sometimes you can't tell if they want help with childcare or what, because most of the time they drag their children in with them, because who can say no to the sweet children? But anyway, she finally asked for prayer, and me, not being accustomed to that, said, "Oh, mam, this is the daycare office, you are looking for the church office. Let me show you where it is." Now, first of all, no one told me that there is a steady stream of people going to and from the church office and occasionally they'd mistake my office for theirs. BUT, in hind sight, I could have prayed with the lady and instead I ushered her "to someone who could help her." Again, the reason why I'm not the church secretary. I had to tell God I was sorry on that one!
Anywhoo, an update on the infection. It is/was staff and I'm taking medicine for it. The doctors have assured me it's safe and all is well. I go for my monthly Sept. 9th, so I'll know more about the actual status of it then.
The Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus is in Jackson this weekend and I want to go so bad, but it's Sid's weekend to work so it doesn't look like we'll be able to make it. I'll probably make a trip to Alabama if Sid has to work all weekend. I've been feeling extra good for the most part, so I think I'll be fine to drive that far alone. We'll see!!!

Happy Labor Day Everyone!!!
Well, it seems that the coast, as it's called around here (which is really just the beach) is getting pounded by our not-so-nice friend Gustav. But he's staying away from Philadelphia for now. On radar, it looks like we are just barely missing some rain and heavy winds. What we are getting instead is just some wind with a few wind gusts and no rain as of yet. I haven't had the TV on in a while, so I don't know how New Orleans and the levies are holding up since lunch, but it looked as if it might all turn out waaaayy better than it did three years ago.
Sid's working today so I'm at home alone. Baby Bailey isn't going to know what to do when we have to go back to work tomorrow and actually have to move around a little. We've done nothing this weekend, I mean a flat out nothing, which drives Sid absolutly crazy. But I enjoy it. I needed this break, and for the most part I've felt ok. It's been nice just to be lazy. And enjoy being at home with nothing to do. He has put in a request for supper so I guess I'll make him dinner later, but other than that I'm just getting ready for the "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" marathon and new episode that's about to start. For those of you who don't know, it comes on TLC and is about Jon and Kate who have eight children. Two of them are twins, the other 6 were all birthed at the SAME TIME. Yes, that's what I said, Kate had 6 babies at one time. So now they have their own little show on TLC about their lives, which is really quite comical, among other things. I just watch it and think to myself "Man, I don't see how they do it, I don't see how they do many, many things, but 8 kids is ALOT".
Most of you who know me know that I am far from a political person on a large scale. But I've been browsing around the blog world this weekend reading what parents of special needs children have to say about Sarah Palin and her role in this election with a 4 month old with Down's Sydrome. Apparently, Obama supports more fuding of IDEA, the federal regulation of special education, but who knew that? Certainly not me since I refuse to entertain the thought of man who won't even salute the flag as being the next president. But for the most part, she has been recieved quite well among these bloggers as the parents feel she will have a heart for special needs children and their education. I don't believe a word any of them say, BUT, it was just announced that her 17 year-old daughter is 5 months pregnant. HMMM! Wonder what people will make of that?
Anywhoo, I hope everyone is having a HAPPY LABOR DAY despite Gustav!!
